'round the mulberry bush!

I love this time of year - our grass is greening up and the mulberry bush is really spreading. The other pic in the corner is asparagus and it's a bone of contention with me and Bart. The garage is a favorite place for pictures and instead of cool bushes or flowers , we have asparagus?! I think I'll give him this year but next year is MY choice. Thanks to my SIL Helen for the suggestion on the hanging plants on the porch. I think I'll keep them pretty this year for sure. Oh, and we're trying the upside down hot peppers. It looks pretty anyway!

My Walk

I've been trying to walk 2 miles everyday, but it's really averaged out to about 3-4 times a week. (crappy weather) Our road is closed one mile out, probably til the end of the summer and I'm lovin' it - cuz it's really like living in the country now. Hardly any traffic , so no excuse not to get my butt moving! Duke is my walking partner, I had to include his picture to show you how he walks sideways. Bart calls him a sidewinder. I walk to the top of this hill and about another quarter mile on the straightaway. One mile 1 way. The pic is the way back.
We woke up to some bad news yesterday. There was an ambulance at our neighbors at 6 am.Our neighbor Rod was to leave for a 9 day fishing trip yesterday, but instead a trip to the hospital. What we've heard so far is a brain aneurysm - he's awake but paralyzed on his left side.
They will have to do surgery asap, but his blood pressure was too high yet. He's a super nice man and we hope all turns out well for him today. Please include him in your prayers. *I always tease Bart that Rods his BFF - they spend so much time together.

Veteran Memorial

A couple of weeks ago, I spent the weekend with Mom in G-ville. We went down to the Veterans Memorial and I finally took the images off my camera. Whoever planned it did a wonderful job and here are a few of the pictures I took. It was the worst time of the day - noon - and much too sunny to get great pictures. Families could buy bricks to include at the memorial and here is my Dads.

P&P and Zombies?

I must have had this book on my mind last night. I actually have it - and read 'most' of it - it's truly disgusting! But I dreamt about
Zombies. The really weird thing is I woke up about 4 - thought about the dream for a few minutes, and fell asleep and went back to the zombie dream again. The worst part is (in my dream) my sister was trying to adopt a baby, and I KNEW it was a zombie baby, but she was so happy!! so I didn't say anything. This IS the same sister that has 3 9 yr old boys - maybe a zombie baby would be a delightful addition?! She got the kid, who could already talk as a newborn -( and was quite ugly) and then I woke up,
before the baby devoured her whole family?! I know I'm weird but when I got to work there was something on the radio about a
"This week in Zombies" on Facebook.
