David went with me and we bought a new car! It is a 2007 Hyundai Elantra. I was really looking at the Sonata - it's a little bigger - but I liked the color on this one and also gas mileage was better, 34MPG. Can't beat that - my van has been at about 16 mpg since it's fallen apart so bad. We had to laugh at the salesman when he came back from driving the van. He's like " Does the window roll up? ah- no. I tried to roll it up to try the air. Does the air work? ah - no. He was having a service guy drive it a couple blocks and David says good luck. It was a push pull and drag sale so I "got" $3000 for it. whatever. So I know what you're all thinking - Let's say it together "ABOUT TIME!!"

This tree fell on my parents roof on June 6. They didn't even know it til the next day when the neighbor called and told them. Sirens had gone off that night and they went to the basement (2:30am) and since they didn't hear it fall it might have been when they were downstairs. It fell right over their bedroom but believe it or not didn't do much damage. That's a big branch! We had high winds again on Saturday night. Crazy stuff going on!

Last night was the annual Friday the thirteenth party. A bunch of girlfriends have been meeting up on this date for about 18 years or so. It was at my house last night and while I was showing off my "studio" Tami and daughter Tennille were up for a quick boudoir shot! So all you ladies that "promised" to check out my blog - prove it by leaving a comment! ; )

It's one disaster after another in Iowa. This is the ice museum in Cedar Falls. I took alot of Kyle and Taylors sr pics here a few weeks ago. The water is now to the top of the red door on the museum and expected to go over the levy. Still hasn't crested and we are expecting more rain! What a crazy summer!

Rain, Rain go away! Our yard flooded for the 2nd time this year. It fills up our driveway and goes in the window wells on both sides of the house. Me, Bart and Brian have been shop vac-ing for hours and pushing the water into the sump pump with a broom. What a mess! The creek behind us overflows the banks - fills the ditches and then over the road it goes. We keep telling our engineer son Brian he has to figure out a way to keep it out of the basement. Sounds like everybody has some weather related disaster today -Rick and Pam had 8 inches of water in their basement. Our fireplace crackled and sparked today too and blew a fuse. Still haven't got that section of the electricity to work yet. The wall my TV is on.

After not much sleep - my snorer is home - it turned out to be a great day. I talked to Brittney on the phone, and got to listen to my grandkids in the background. I won't say they were yelling but Nathan was! ;) And I met a sweet 2 month old, Lily, and her brother and sister and took some pictures. She was not happy but I got some good pictures of the older two. I will share when I get them edited. Then I lounged in the sun and finished my 4th book for the week. Hey , I was on vacation!
